Hydrated lime for pasteurizing straw or sawdust for growing oyster mushrooms.
This hydrated lime is low in magnesium, high in calcium and raises PH. Other types of lime that are high in magnesium will not work the same such as garden lime or dolomite lime.
For straw soak use 2-3g/L. Soak straw for 12-24hrs, drain for 4-12 hours, mix in spawn and bag into straw bags with pre punched holes.
Please Google and read "Hydrated Lime Safety Precautions" before use. Hydrated lime can cause burns to skin and eyes in its powdered form if handled incorrectly.
