How to Grow Shiitake Mushrooms at Home (Takes 5 Minutes to Set Up)
Open your kit within 5 days of delivery.
Find a cool, shaded spot indoors (12–22°C is perfect - kitchen bench, laundry, garage or spare room).
Cut off the plastic bag completely.
Mist the block heavily with water (until it’s dripping) morning and night for 2–3 days.
Tiny white pins appear → stop heavy misting and keep the block moist.
Harvest when caps are open and edges start to curl (usually 5–10 days after pinning).
After the first flush, leave the block to dry for a few weeks then soak the block in cold water overnight to trigger the next crop. One block can keep producing for months!
